Remind us again why we live in Alberta?
<--- the esteemed "new wood splitter"
First and foremost I would like to mention a CRAZY coincidence that took place yesterday...on the way to nakamun, Kris noticed my stuffed puppet "piggy" and asked about him. I mentioned that I was quite dependant on the little guy and that I was trying to weine myself off of Piggy as i am 20 years old and that is a little ridiculous. Luke however, was quite encouraging about the whole thing and said that his roommate who was getting married right away STILL sleeps with his Hippo and that his fiance is ok with this...which gave me hope. So then, I was reading "the giver" by Lois Lowry, and it is a weird book, but it was talking about how in the "clan" the kids are expected to give up their "comfort objects" when they are 'an 8' (age eight), and THEN it talked about how this little girl's comfort object..WAS A HIPPO!
Today the weather was absolutely miserable. The temperature was like 6 degrees and the wind was approximatly 500km/hour I think, I have a pretty good sense for that sort of thing. But we still ran the wall and zip and let me tell ya, it was friggin' cold up there. Those band kids were pretty good though, nothing like a grade seven boy who plays the flute and plans on playing it for life (i asked.)
Anna Caldwell is here now, she has been out here for 8 months NOT including the summer. Anna is pretty much one of the greatest people ever..i will tell you why,
1. she is always quite positive about the joys of Nakamun.
2. She is the only girl to ever consistently run the zipline.
3. She could beat your dad up.
4. She could use her hair to belay herself up and down the wall.
So I am happy to have another fembot around. Even if she could kill me if she wanted to.
I also did not mention that Caleb Anaker is the maintenance boy out here. He is very capable with a rotatiller I am told.
Well, other than those pieces of info, not much else has happened..the boys put together Donny K's office stuff, I had to pass out change to kids and then washed my hands like 3 times. I also learned how to stock vending machines...and OHHHH HENRY, that was sweet...And me and kris were instructed to design some promo poster for Nakamun. Needless to say..the overwhelming task will be helped by a graphic designer tomorrow morning...PHEWF.
ok cats. keep it real. thanks for the comments, they truly made my little world a little brighter.
quote of the day
Luke: Carol, at our wedding I better see you on the dance floor.
Carol: Luke..floor? What about the table?
